TreVeyon Henderson is a devout, outspoken Christian who has made his faith in Jesus Christ the defining element of his personal identity. The New England Patriots running back frequently uses his platform to share his testimony, routinely asserting that his true worth is found in Christ rather than in football, money, or worldly success.

The Turning Point in His Faith Journey
Henderson did not grow up in a deeply religious household. He has shared that he initially wrapped his entire identity around athletic performance and financial success. However, after experiencing a disruptive sophomore season due to injury at Ohio State University, he began to reassess his life.

During this challenging period, Henderson struggled with deep personal issues, including depression, suicidal thoughts, and sleep paralysis. Through the support of Christian teammates who invited him to study the Bible and explore the Gospel, he experienced what he describes as a radical spiritual transformation. He officially committed his life to Christ in 2023. While still at Ohio State, Henderson became a key student leader in a massive, athlete-led campus religious revival that resulted in hundreds of student baptisms.

Expressing His Faith in the NFL
Since being drafted into the NFL by the New England Patriots, Henderson's religious convictions have remained highly visible:

  • The "Jesus Won" Viral Moment: Henderson drew significant national attention during Super Bowl week when he wore a simple t-shirt reading "Jesus Won", which he explained was a declaration of Christ's victory over sin and death.
  • Advocacy for the Persecuted Church: For the NFL's "My Cause My Cleats" initiative, Henderson chose to raise awareness for Global Christian Relief to support persecuted Christians worldwide.
  • Bold Public Testimony: Henderson frequently posts Scripture on his social media accounts, speaks at churches during the offseason, and runs youth football camps that explicitly feature bibles, Christian music, and faith-based messaging.

He has openly acknowledged that being vocal about his biblical worldview can bring criticism, but maintains that he answers to God rather than seeking the approval of man.
