Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore is an outspoken follower of Christ. He frequently uses his platform to share his devout Christian faith, often stating that his ultimate purpose on the football field is to "glorify God".
Moore's religious commitment is a central pillar of his life and career, marked by several prominent expressions of his faith:
- His "Why": Moore has repeatedly shared that when head coach Dan Lanning asked what his "why" was, his response was explicitly to honor God. He credits his abilities and opportunity to play football entirely to his faith.
- Campus Baptism: Shortly after enrolling at the University of Oregon, Moore connected deeply with the team chaplain and subsequently chose to get baptized.
- On-Field Prayer: He is widely known for leading or joining postgame prayer circles on the field. Viral moments have captured him cutting interviews short to pray with his offensive linemen or gathering at midfield with rival opponents to pray after a game.
- Scripture Sharing: His social media bios display "Follower of Christ". He frequently posts Bible verses and photos of his daily Scripture readings to keep himself and his followers grounded.
