For Texas A&M wide receiver Terry Bussey, Christian faith is the bedrock of both his personal life and his football career.
He has frequently spoken about how his relationship with God has guided him through extreme adversity, particularly following the tragic losses of his mother, Nanette, and his sister, TyKuirra, in 2021.

Faith on and off the Field
* Rooted in Family: His mother heavily instilled a foundation of discipline and faith during his childhood, ensuring regular church attendance.
* Team Fellowship: Bussey is an active member of Texas A&M's athlete-led faith community. He regularly participates in a player-run Tuesday night prayer and worship group.
* Public Expression: He is known to openly showcase his beliefs during games, famously wearing a cross on his shoulder pads. He also uses a cross emoji (✞) across his official social media platforms.
* Community Moments: In August 2026, after completing a demanding 110-story stadium stair climb honoring 9/11 victims, Bussey publicly credited his strength to his faith, sharing that he "prayed the whole way, and Jesus gave me the strength to keep going."

Injury Update
Bussey will need to lean heavily on that faith for strength in the coming months. During the opening kickoff of Texas A&M's SEC opener against Kentucky, he suffered a non-contact right leg injury. Head coach Mike Elko announced that the injury appears serious and is expected to require a long-term recovery.
